When looking at pearls to buy, the purchaser should be aware that the term 'Pearls' should ONLY by used for Natural Pearls. Cultured Pearls, while still grown naturally and organically, are INSTIGATED or started by the insersion of a bead, around which the CULTURED Pearl will grow.
While there is - on the face of it - little to distinguish the Natural to the Cultured Pearl, the price variance is quite staggering. This also applies to the various grades of cultured pearls as well.
